Salute to Heroes

The National World War II Museum and the U.S.S. Midway Museum honored six World War II Medal of Honor recipients at the Beyond the Call of Duty gala at the U.S.S. Midway Museum. Lieutenant John W. Finn, Colonel Van T. Barfoot, Colonel Charles P. Murray Jr., Hershel Williams, Jack H. Lucas and Walter D. Ehlers were presented with the Midway American Patriot Award and the American Spirit Award. TV veteran Sam Donaldson was master of ceremonies; former California governor Pete Wilson was honorary cochair. Connie Conard and Bob Shumake chaired.
